Our 27th annual event, sharing the love of natural fibers and all of their artistic and practical uses! Sales and demonstrations from fiber animal producers, spinners, weavers, felters, rug makers, etc. Raffles, Jill Pot (spinner’s choice of fleece judged contest…see new format below), and more. Family friendly event! Spinning circle open to all, or bring your knitting, hand carding, etc.

JILL POT FIBER CONTEST UPDATE: We have revamped our traditional fleece contest, the Jill Pot. Previously, this was a contest where the animal had to be present, and an experienced spinner would choose which fleece on the animal that she/he would like to spin. However, now this contest is open to all HDWG members and FMD vendors, and the animal does NOT need to be present.

Guidelines: You may enter one fleece per breed from an animal from your farm, which has been sheared within this past year. Entry fee is $5. It must be skirted and entered in a clean, clear plastic bag. Pre-entry is available here on our website under the Vendor Info tab. Please drop off your fleeces during setup times, Friday afternoon between 2:00-6:00 pm, or by 8:00 am Saturday morning; there will be tables set up near the rear (south) entry of the building. Judge: TBA. Prizes: 1st place $30, 2nd place $20, 3rd place $10.
